JOINING TOGETHER FOR OUR COMMUNITIES

Healthy

We want everyone, regardless of age, income, or background, to connect to their potential, purpose and each other.

As a leading charitable and social service organization in Alabama and Mississippi, YMCAs in each alliance are committed to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living, and civic engagement. Stronger communities are possible when we collaborate and invest in our children, our health, and our neighbors.

The AL MS YMCA Alliance Partnership is the collective voice of the local YMCAs in these states.

YMCAs work together in each alliance to:

The Y makes a difference in all of the communities it serves. When we speak with one voice, we can move individuals, communities and our states forward. Together the YMCAs in Alabama and Mississippi are creating healthy and positive states for future generations.

Thank you to the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Parks, & Fisheries for their support to bring YMCA Safety Around Water to the day camp at the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science.  The Jackson Metro YMCA’s aquatics team, in collaboration with the MS & AL YMCA State Alliance, delivered lifesaving skills to more than 30 day campers on June 23, 2026.

This program can be offered to all ages, and the MS & AL YMCAs are committed to delivering drowning prevention programs.  For information, contact Justin Inskeep, Justin@ymcaalms.org

OUR PHILANTHROPY

Every year, over 4,000 volunteers and staff members will actively go into the community during our Annual Support Campaign to raise the dollars needed to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, gender, race, faith, ability level, income or background has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

Financial assistance funded by Annual Campaign donations keeps the Y available for kids and families who need us most and provides programs that are responding to pressing community needs. 100% of all donations go directly toward providing life-changing experiences that will have a meaningful, enduring impact right in our community.

Because our mission is to serve ALL people, financial assistance is made available to any individual or family who wants to participate in a YMCA program or activity, but cannot afford the fee. Annual Support Campaign helps our Y live its mission every day.

The YMCA is dedicated to building programs for youth development, healthy living, and connecting communities. Y programs and services promote strong values, character development, youth leadership, community development, and international understanding.

The Y makes accessible the support and opportunities that empower people and communities to learn, grow, and thrive by providing welcoming environments that nurture well-being and ways to give back and support neighbors.

Our Mission

To advance and amplify YMCAs in Alabama and Mississippi through collaboration, leadership development, advocacy, and shared strategic priorities that strengthen communities.

OUR PURPOSE

To unite and strengthen YMCAs through collaboration and collective impact.
